Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester 2015

(February 2015)

After auditioning in November 2014, I am thrilled to become a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester!! This is a dream come true and I can't wait to start the rehearsals! I will participate in the 2015 Summer Tour, which will bring the orchestra to perform in the most renowned concert halls and leading festivals around Europe.

The GMJO is one of the leading youth orchestras in the world. The musicians who take part in the tours are selected through a highly competitive audition process that takes place every year in around twenty five European cities.  An international jury selects candidates from an average of two thousand applicants.

This summer, the orchestra will be conducted by Herbert Blomstedt, in a programme including the 8th Symphony by Bruckner. After a rehearsal period in Bolzano (Italy), the musicians being coached by professional players of major orchestras, the orchestra will perform in Bolzano, Ravello, Luzern, Dresden, Salzburg, Amsterdam, Wiesbaden, Pordenone.

Considered the place for European orchestral musicians to forge their talents, the members of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester can accumulate experiences that are decisive for their musical development and further careers as professional musicians.
